Maria DeCotis is a NYC based actress, writer, director, and comedian from Fayetteville, Georgia. She graduated with her BFA in Acting, Cum Laude from Boston University with a concentration in Playwriting. She is currently working in film, television, commercial, and live comedy. She has been reviewed by Time Out New York, Broadway World, The Boston Globe, Film Pulse, and Film School Rejects.
She worked with Commedia dell’Arte professionals in Italy. She is currently in the Academy Advanced Study Improv Program at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and her improv group The Sister Wives recently won UCB Cage Match. She is a ukulele singer-songwriter (iTunes and Spotify) and Lindy Hopper.
She approaches every artistic endeavor as an invitation to create a communicative environment to connect people of all backgrounds. She aims for storytelling to encourage peace, understanding, and empathy for each other's unique human experiences.
